We have bulls and females for sale by private treaty. Please contact us for further information on what is currently available.We raise our animals on a mix of native grass and seeded pasture in the Hand Hills. We feed the cows only hay and green-feed bales in winter. Cows which cannot maintain condition without grain are culled.
Replacement heifers are culled at weaning, and only those we would use ourselves are brought home to grow out. They get their own pen, grass and alfalfa hay, with a small amount of prepared grain/supplement ration to get them used to handling. It pays off when they calve, by creating good-natured cows that can be handled easily through the year.
Our bull calves are culled before weaning- those who do not make the standard get a band. They are culled again in winter based on performance. They get free-choice hay and a grain ration fed at a moderate 1-1.5% of body weight. We want the bulls ready to go out and breed in the spring and maintain honest weight.
